01

Chillers

Chillers are essential in commercial HVAC — from keeping stadiums cool during the big game to keeping supermarket food fresh.

Our certified technicians are experts at diagnosing problems in any type of chiller — air-cooled or water-cooled, packaged or modular, and split systems.

02

Cooling Towers

Unlike chillers, cooling towers use water instead of refrigerants to dispel heat from your HVAC system.

Closed-loop towers work similarly to open-loop towers, but include a heat exchanger coil that keeps tower water separate from building cooling water. The three main types are crossflow, counterflow, and hyperbolic.

Choosing the right cooling tower can be overwhelming with so many products on the market — let our commercial HVAC experts help you decide.

03

Heat Exchangers

A heat exchanger transfers heat between two or more fluids in your HVAC system, and is used in both cooling and heating.

There are three main types: plate and frame, shell and tube, and scraped surface.

Routine service — cleaning the plates and replacing gaskets when needed — prolongs the life of these units.

04

Heat Pumps

When we talk about pumps, we're talking about fluid transfer — the centrifugal pump is the most commonly used pump in HVAC today. Like any major system component, pumps need routine service. Our technicians monitor bearing temperatures, lubricant levels, and mechanical seals, and check for excessive vibration.

For moderate heating and cooling needs, heat pumps offer an energy-efficient alternative to furnaces and air conditioners. They use electricity to move warm air rather than create it — which can cut energy costs to a quarter of a standard HVAC system.

05

Computer Room Equipment

Computer room air conditioning (CRAC) is a critical, growing part of the HVAC industry. As data becomes more valuable, most companies rely heavily on servers to protect their confidential information.

Our specialists handle computer room and server room service and design — including in-row cooling, below-floor cooling, and spot coolers. Contact us to speak with a CRAC specialist.

06

Refrigeration

Keeping your perishables from spoiling matters as much as keeping your customers comfortable.

Our refrigeration experts service and install walk-in boxes, ice machines, and low-temp freezers, backed by 24-hour emergency service.

If you're experiencing refrigeration failure, contact Pilar Services right away.

07

Air Handlers

More than three decades of commercial HVAC experience has given us the expertise to excel in this competitive industry.

We offer variable frequency drive (VFD) systems for energy efficiency, variable air volume (VAV) systems, rooftop packaged units, energy recovery units, indoor units, and more — any special request can be fulfilled.

08

Fans

Whether you're dealing with toxins, odors, or excess humidity, there's a fan solution for every situation.

Inline fans expel heat and humidity from large spaces and server closets. Return fans pull and filter air before it recirculates, removing dust and moisture.

Exhaust fans, most common in restaurants, pull hot air, grease, and smoke through hood filters and duct systems. Our experts can help you choose the right fan system for your business.

09

Filtration Systems

We offer a wide range of air and water filtration products to meet your business's needs — from electrostatic air filters to full ducted smoke-removal systems with HEPA and carbon filtration.

HVAC systems that use water need proper maintenance to avoid corrosion and scale build-up. Well-maintained filtration systems reduce energy costs and extend equipment life.

10

Terminal Units

Air terminal units are the choice for modern buildings, controlling primary air volume to a zone through a valve with an inlet, damper, and controller.

VAV (Variable Air Volume) units are the simplest and most cost-effective — but still require service. VRV/VRF (Variable Refrigerant Volume/Flow) units are the most sophisticated, and need service at least once a year.

11

Energy Efficiency Auditing

Operating costs are key to making sure any business remains lucrative. Our energy efficiency pros can spot the source of the problem draining your pockets and immediately make the necessary repairs or recommendations needed to lower your operating costs.

12

HVAC Controls

HVAC controls are devices that manage the operation of your heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment — used in everything from small homes to large commercial buildings.

The U.S. Department of Energy found that about 40% of a commercial building's energy costs go to heating, cooling, and ventilation. Automation controls can cut that cost in half by scheduling and regulating HVAC performance.

13

UV Lights

Ultra-violet lights fight bacteria and mold build-up in your commercial HVAC system, reducing energy consumption by as much as 20% and prolonging equipment life.

UV lights also mean less chemical cleaning — safer for the environment and your customers. Systems are available for in-duct, on-coil, and in-room use.
